A photo of a green origami crane sitting on a blue square sheet of origami paper. There are other paper slips, too; purple, pink, and white.

Dream a little dream
Origami crane
Preceding your existence
You approached me through
Closed Eyes
Beckoning
Your paper art creation
Sleep a little sleep
Origami crane
Rest assured of your siblings
Arrival
Brothers and Sisters born
Of square sheets
Blue, green, yellow, purple
Folded precisely
Meeting your pink perfection
Wait for a little weight
Origami crane
You and I bear the same burden
My resolutions
A new years mindset
Seeking worldly manifestation
Hidden in your finger-pinched wings
One puff from me
Together we will fly; creative migration
Faith a little faith
Origami crane
Without glue or tape, cuts or fastenings
An unfolding awaits
Not a straightening of your shape
Fear, not my friend
Our unfolding equals growth, progress
Evolvement
Chance a little chase
Origami crane
A new year’s flight plan; chasing goals
One thousand strong
Paper birds strung together
Japanese, “Senbazuru”
Meaning, honor, loyalty, longevity
Good fortune
Patience, a little patience
Origami crane
Twelve months lie before us
Careful crafting
Your “Gruidae” family
Folding process without dotted lines
Yet, boundary-free
Births a long-distance traveler
Dance a little dance
Origami crane
Life-long partners, you and I
Flocked ones holding a cordial compass
Airborne sighting
Graceful gliding greets New Year’s news
Navigating a journey
Among the highest of high flyers
Dream a little dream
Origami crane
Yes, dream a little dream
I create to manifest
Because I dare to dream, too
