RAINBOW SALAD
Dawned Upon
A poem inspired by First Morning Light

Break of light
to my
half awake eyes
golden flares
in a dark sky place —
traces
outline my pupils
hazel spaces
flecks of sunrise
smize
intertwine
with green-hued
optics
my half baked vision
warms
to touch tone tropics
chin up to sky
I cannot deny
her lent hand to lenses
first-morn cleanses
many thanks
each day anew
to be reborn…
